WELCOME
It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 20th Marriage and Relationship Educators' Conference, our "Festival of Learning": learning about relationships, learning to do relationship education, and learning to support both educators and the couples they work with. The conference will include research about relationships, will provide tools and relevant content for workers in relationship education, and will be a great place for co-ordinators and managers to meet with others undertaking that role to learn to support workers and enhance the understanding of Marriage and Relationship Education, both within organisations and in the wider community.
An extensive range of topics sit within each theme, and we have developed a program that we hope will enrich and broaden your practical and theoretical knowledge, and enhance your networks and expertise in the practice and delivery of marriage and relationship education.
As an added bonus we hope you'll enjoy the social program, and leave Melbourne feeling affirmed, stimulated and energised!
The last decade has seen enormous changes in the way in which MRE is funded, practised and perceived. In 2009, educators will gather for the 20th conference, so we'll be celebrating where we've been, looking at where we are, and talking about where we need to go.
We would like to thank our presenters and keynote speakers for contributing to an exciting and informative program. A special vote of thanks must go to our major sponsor - FaHCSIA - in particular the Family and Relationship Services Branch - for their generous contribution to this event. Without their preparedness to support us financially we would not be able to bring so many people from around the country and overseas to participate in this "Festival of Learning".
